21 Oct 2015 12:15 PM | Daniel Renteria (Administrator)

The Program in Arabic Studies at Williams College seeks to appoint two tenure-track Assistant Professors, beginning July 2016. Specialization open, PhD preferred. Excellent language teaching credentials and experience are essential, interdisciplinary scholarly interests are desirable. The teaching load for regular faculty at Williams is 2-2; faculty teach in our January term every other year. The College and the Program value teaching and research equally highly, and expect as well a strong commitment to collegiality on the levels of the program, the College, and the profession.

Arabic Studies is especially interested in candidates who are enthusiastic about contributing to the rich and diverse intellectual life of a campus made up of colleagues and students from widely varying backgrounds. Individuals from groups that are underrepresented in academia are particularly encouraged to apply.

Applications are due no later than November 15, 2015 and should include a cover letter, CV, and three letters of recommendation, at least one of which speaks to the candidate’s promise as a teacher. All materials should be addressed to Gail Newman, Program Director, and must be submitted through Interfolio at Email and paper applications will not be accepted. All offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background check. Further information is available here:
