This is a full-time position (three-year contract) with possible renewal, with an August 22, 2022 start date. The teaching load is three courses per semester with the option to teach Arabic literature/culture classes in English online during the winter and summer interterms for additional compensation.

Applicants should hold at least an M.A. or Ph.D. in any Arabic Studies related field including language, linguistics, literature, translation, and foreign language education. The Department of Middle Eastern and Ancient Mediterranean Studies is committed to equity and inclusion and is actively working to increase diversity among its faculty and create an environment that is welcoming to all. We hope members of groups historically underrepresented in the field will apply.

    1. M.A. or Ph.D. in any Arabic Studies related field including language, linguistics, literature, translation, and foreign language education by the start of the appointment.
Native or near-native competence in Arabic and English.
