    Arabic Lecturer by the Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures within the Indiana University Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies

    The Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures at Indiana University, Bloomington, seeks applicants for a full-time lecturer in Arabic, beginning August 1, 2021. Responsibilities will include teaching three courses from beginning to advanced-level Arabic per semester and actively participating in all the academic and co-curricular activities of the Arabic program. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Arabic language, linguistics, applied linguistics, or a related field, with a demonstrated record of success in Arabic language instruction at the University level. The candidate is expected to be competent in the use of instructional technology and communicative, proficiency-based, teaching methodologies. Ph.D. must be in hand by beginning of appointment. The successful candidate must demonstrate fluency in Modern Standard Arabic and have native or near-native proficiency in at least one dialect. The candidate must also demonstrate a high level of proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
