Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature and Arabic

The Department of Comparative Literature at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor position (tenure-track) with a specialization in comparative approaches to Arabic literatures and cultures. Teaching responsibilities include contributing to the graduate and undergraduate programs in Comparative Literature (our department offers the BA, MA, and PhD in Comparative Literature) and to the undergraduate Arabic Language minor. Requirements: PhD in hand by date of appointment, in Comparative Literature, Arabic, or related field; native or near-native ability in Arabic and English; relevant research achievements or evidence of relevant research promise; appropriate teaching experience. In addition, successful candidates must have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable and diverse campus community.
