Posting Title: MSA/Levantine Dialect Instructor (Germany)

Culmen International LLC is a US Government contractor currently recruiting for a Modern Standard Arabic and Levantine Arabic Dialect Instructor (candidate must be able to teach both MSA and Levantine dialect). Start date is early January 2019. Instructor will teach up to 8 adult students 6-7 hours per day up to 35 weeks per year.

Requirements:

  • Native or near-native fluency in MSA and the Levantine dialect
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English at ILR level 2 or higher
  • Ability to teach students to read, write, speak and understand Modern Standard Arabic and Levantine dialect at ILR level 3 or higher
  • Ability to write and provide sample lesson plans and a syllabus
  • Ability to qualify to obtain a German work permit
  • Copies of diplomas and certifications, and contact information for references

Experience:

  • Must have 5 years’ recent experience teaching MSA and Levantine
  • Must have lived 2+ years in an Arabic-speaking environment where Levantine is the local dialect

Education:

  • BA (MA strongly preferred) in teaching Arabic, linguistics or a related subject
