The Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures, The School of Global and International Studies at Indiana University, Bloomington, seeks applicants for a full-time Lecturer position in the Arabic Flagship Program, effective Fall 2016. Responsibilities will include teaching courses from beginning to advanced-level Arabic per semester and actively participating in all the academic and co-curricular activities of the Arabic program. The successful candidate will preferably have a Ph.D. in Arabic language, pedagogy, linguistics, applied linguistics, or a related field, and is expected to be competent in the use of instructional technology and communicative, standards-based teaching methodologies. The candidate must demonstrate native or near-native proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic and the Egyptian dialect, and must be fluent in English. Competitive salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Renewal of this position beyond the first four years will be contingent upon the availability of funds.
