One-year Renewable Instructor of Arabic
The Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Linguistics at the
 
University of Oklahoma seeks applications for a full-time instructor of Arabic to start August 16, 2015 (arrival in Norman, Oklahoma by August 2)- May 15, 2016, renewable. Teaching load is three courses per semester, primarily from Beginning to Intermediate. The successful candidate will be a team player in terms of pedagogical approach using the communicative method and participating in extra-curricular activities associated with the Arabic Flagship Program. Pay and benefits are competitive; Norman, OK is often cited as one of the most desirable cities of its size in the U.S. in terms of cost of living and amenities.

Requirements: Master’s degree in a related field at the time of appointment (e.g. Arabic language, linguistics, or applied linguistics) and familiarity with instructional technology and online resources.

Preferred: Familiarity with content-based and domain-based instruction; ACTFL and ILR standards; and assessment protocols.
