Principal School Inspector - Arabic Language

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) is a regulatory body of the Government of Dubai and is responsible for the growth, direction and quality of private education and learning in Dubai. The Dubai Schools Inspections Bureau (DSIB) evaluates the performance of schools and the outcomes for students against the best performing countries in the world. DSIB provides the Government of Dubai and the wider public with an accurate and detailed view of the quality of private education in Dubai.

About the position
DSIB is seeking bilingual (Arabic/English) individuals with expertise in the Arabic language to develop the practice of inspecting Arabic in schools. Applicants should have experience and knowledge of how the Arabic language is effectively taught and assessed within the context of different curricula; for example UK, US Common Core, French or International Baccalaureate (IB).

Opportunities for full-time positions are available immediately. Remuneration packages are extremely competitive and include medical insurance, travel allowances and end of service gratuities.

  • Responsibilities - Manage and develop a team of inspectors; participate as a lead or team inspector in adherence with the DSIB framework and guidelines; assure the quality of inspections and inspection reports; support the investigation of complaints related to inspections conducted in schools; monitor the outcomes of inspections; act as an ambassador for KHDA and DSIB; update inspectors and develop inspector competencies and make a valuable contribution to initiatives and policies.
  • Competencies include the ability to: assess complex and conflicting evidence; reach secure judgments; record and report findings accurately; demonstrate effective leadership and management; communicate and establish high expectations; use credible data sources and accurately analyse data; develop research-based briefings and action plans; influence external stakeholders.
  • Skills - Excellent oral and written communication in English and Arabic; good interpersonal and well-developed IT skills.

DSIB will provide an induction programme, training and development.
