Visiting Assistant Professor in Arabic

Beginning September 2015, a two-year full-time position teaching Arabic language and literature courses in a dynamic liberal arts program. Area of specialization open, but preference given to candidates who have a strong interest and background in Arabic language teaching. The successful candidate will teach beginning and intermediate levels of Arabic, and one or two advanced courses in Arabic or in their area of specialization in translation. Candidates should: have native or near-native fluency in Arabic; provide evidence of demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching of the Arabic language; and hold a Ph.D. in Arabic Language and Literature, Comparative Literature, or Middle Eastern Studies.
