Florida State University: Full-time Visiting Arabic Instructor starting Fall 2015

The Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics at Florida State University invites applications for a full-time Visiting Teaching Faculty I in Arabic for the academic year 2015-2016. This position is for one year with the possibility of renewal.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should be able to teach Arabic at all levels (including advanced content courses) for an average of twelve hours per week according to the needs of the Arabic Division. Applicants should have university teaching experience and experience in integrating both standard and spoken Arabic into their teaching. The successful candidate will work closely with other faculty members in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies. The successful candidate will be a native or near-native speaker of Arabic and will have a MA or PhD in teaching Arabic as a foreign language or a related field. Interest in film studies is a plus.

INSTRUCTIONS

The application deadline is November 15, 2014. Evaluation of applicants will commence immediately thereafter and will continue until the position is filled. Possibility of a preliminary interview at MESA, November, 22-25 in Washington D.C.
