The Department of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics at Bucknell University invites applications for a one-semester position in Arabic Studies at the Visiting Assistant Professor level beginning in August of 2014, with the possibility of an extension for an additional semester, spring of 2015. PhD (or ABD) in Arabic literature, Arabic linguistics or teaching Arabic as a foreign language (TAFL). Applicants must demonstrate interest in language pedagogy and teaching methodologies. Applicants must have native or near-native fluency in Arabic and English. The successful candidate should also have a strong and demonstrated interest in liberal arts education. Teaching duties will include Arabic language courses at all levels and courses in literature or/and culture. The teaching load is six courses a year.

Complete dossier should include at least three letters of recommendation, statement of teaching philosophy, and evidence of potential in teaching excellence (e.g. syllabi and teaching evaluations).
