Eckerd College, Continuing Part-Time Assistant Professor of Arabic, Comparative Cultures

Eckerd College invites applications for a position in the Arabic language.  Native or near-native command of Modern Standard Arabic and English is required, as is advanced training in a relevant area of Arabic Studies.  Doctors of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or candidates with all but dissertation (ABD) preferred.  Qualified candidates with Masters degrees will be considered.  Teaching load is five (5) courses per year, including elementary to advanced Arabic language.  The position is "Continuing Part-Time," renewable year-to-year, and paid a 5/7 share of a full salary with a full benefits package, which includes health care.  Eckerd College, the only independent national liberal arts college in Florida, has a tradition of innovation education and teaching/mentoring excellence.  Submit a letter of application, Curriculum vitae, recent teaching evaluations, graduate transcripts via www.eckerd.edu/hr/employment.  A digital video clip of classroom teaching, if available, and inquiries should be sent to Professor Eileen Mikals-Adachi at mikalseb@eckerd.edu.  Review of applications begins immediately and continues until position is filled.  Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.  Eckerd College is an Equal Opportunity Employer; applications from women and minorities are encouraged.
