Arabic Language Pedagogy (Assistant Professor)

Indiana University, Bloomington, the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures, announces a position in Arabic language pedagogy at the level of tenure-track Assistant Professor. Applicants must have a PhD in hand in language acquisition and pedagogy or related field by Fall 2012 and native or near-native command of Arabic and English.  S/he must have a demonstrable commitment to Arabic language instruction as well as research in a pedagogy-related field, and is expected to be competent in the use of instructional technology and communicative, standards-based teaching methodologies. The successful candidate must be familiar with the latest methods in second/foreign language assessment and be able to teach content courses in Arabic as well as supervise graduate teaching assistants. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
