Lecturer of Arabic, Swarthmore College

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Swarthmore College seeks applicants for a lecturer in Arabic to teach first and second year Arabic, effective with the fall semester of 2013. This is a one-year appointment, with potential renewal for up to three years based on need and performance. Responsibilities include teaching six to eight units per year and contributing to the growth of the Arabic program at Swarthmore. The successful candidate must hold an M.A. in Arabic Language and Literature, or a related field. Experience teaching Arabic as a foreign language is also required. The candidate must demonstrate native or near-native fluency in Modern Standard Arabic and English. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
