High School Arabic and French Teacher, The American School in London, UK

The French and Arabic Language and Culture Teacher will direct both French and Arabic instruction for students primarily in the High School (Grades 9-12). Arabic will be taught at beginner and intermediate levels, while French is offered to language learners of diverse levels of ability. Classes in the World Languages and Cultures department aim to develop skills in the four areas of language study: listening, reading, speaking and writing. Use of English is kept to a minimum. Arabic (since 2012), Chinese, French, and Spanish are ASL’s core languages.

Successful candidates will have a minimum of three years’ experience teaching French and Arabic, with substantive experience teaching the American Curriculum. A bachelor’s degree in French and/or Arabic or a related field, along with fluency or near-fluency in French and Arabic, are essential. Advanced degree preferred. Candidates with experience teaching in international and/or independent school communities are highly desirable.

Applicants should email a cover letter and resume to Megan Gomm, Recruitment Manager, at megan_gomm@asl.org.  More information and a full job description can be found at http://www.asl.org/employment
