Instructor of Arabic Studies #F0299W

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the College of William and Mary invites applications for an instructor position in Arabic language, pending budget approval, beginning Fall Semester 2013. Teaching load will be six courses per year (3-3). Salary is commensurate with qualifications and teaching experience. This is a continuing NTE position possibly renewable up to 5 years.

We are looking for professional, skilled language instructors with experience and competence in teaching Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and at least one dialect in a communicative, proficiency based manner from elementary to advanced levels. Applicants should have native or near native fluency in MSA, one dialect and English. An MA or higher in Arabic language or literature is required, in addition to a successful proficiency-based teaching record.
