The Program in Africana Studies at Vassar College invites applications for a three-year, renewable position at the rank of lecturer in Arabic language and literature and/or culture beginning Fall 2013.

The successful candidate will teach five courses per year and contribute to the continued vibrancy of the program’s correlate sequence in Arabic language and culture. Primary responsibilities will be to teach three courses per year in Arabic language, and two courses in Arabic literature and/or culture (in English, as appropriate).
Demonstrated excellence and commitment to innovative pedagogy is required. Native or near-native fluency in Arabic. PhD in hand is strongly preferred.
