The program is completely free of charge. It will take place at Columbia University on July 16-27.&nbsp; &nbsp;This intensive 2-week program is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of K-12 teachers of Chinese, Arabic and Korean. The program will be taught by nationally recognized instructors of world language teaching: Rosanne Zeppieri, Victoria Gilbert, Helena Curtain and Katrina Griffin.</font></p> <p><font color="#232121" face="Verdana" style="font-size: 12px;">Program content will include lesson design, student engagement and comprehensible input in the target language. During the program, participants will have the opportunity to practice what they are learning through opportunities to micro-teach students attending GLP’s Startalk student program and/or opportunities to teach micro lessons to other teachers who did not speak the target language.</font></p> <p><font color="#232121" face="Verdana" style="font-size: 12px;">This program is open to all Arabic teachers at the K-12 level in the United States. For the first time in summer 2011, UCLA will offer Amharic, a language of Ethiopia, to high school students who have been exposed to it at home.
