Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature, specialization in Arabic language and literature
Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature with a specialization in Arabic language and literature, to begin teaching in the fall of 2015. Salary competitive. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature or in another field of literary study that reflects comparative work. The successful candidate will be fluent both in English and Arabic, will have experience in teaching Arabic at all levels, will have a strong background in comparative approaches to literature and in literary theory, and will contribute to the College’s interdisciplinary minors in Arabic. Strong undergraduate teaching ability and an active research program are essential. Six-course teaching load to include the teaching of Arabic language through the advanced level, core courses in the comparative literature major, and courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. We will hold interviews with selected candidates at the MLA conference in Vancouver.
